As a tranquilizer for nervous or irritable animals that require chemical restraint and cannot be administered promazine derivatives, since these are contraindicated in animals suffering from convulsions.

In animals with acute pruritus, it reduces the itching sensation and helps to control scratching and excessive self-mutilation resulting in the mechanic destruction of the skin.
